OCR Text Recognition

OCR text recognition works best when English letters are large, level, evenly lit, and easy to inspect. Crop the image to one reading task, remove glare or shadows where possible, then use the Image to Text Converter to extract, edit, copy, or download the text.

Use this quick check before uploading. It is designed for the same workflow as this tool: select an image, extract text, then review the editable result.

1. Can you read every character at normal zoom? If not, crop closer or take the image again. OCR cannot reliably restore letters that the image does not show.
2. Is there one clear reading direction? If the image contains columns, labels, or several blocks, crop the one block you need before extraction.
3. Does light cross the letters? Change the angle or lighting when a shadow, reflection, or glare runs through important text.
4. Is an exact field involved? For names, email addresses, codes, or numbers, compare the editable OCR result with the image line by line before using Copy all.

Use the result as a draft, not a substitute for the image

The tool reads visible English text from JPG, PNG, and WEBP images in your browser. It does not sharpen an image, remove glare, or correct a blurred character. The result stays editable so you can fix a word before copying everything or downloading a .txt file.

When to take another image

Take another image when the text is smaller than you can comfortably inspect, when the page is strongly tilted, or when one word changes the meaning of what you need. A tighter crop with even light is usually a better next step than repeatedly extracting the same unclear image.
